Our Dinner at the Cigaran Palace on the Bosphorus

After all the excitement of the flying day, it was time to discover the Bosphorus and the delicacies of the Turkish food

We also had 3 more arrival total, Peter, Danny and Luke...All of them will start with us to Dubai and experience the excitement of the Journey Around the World

The Flight to Istanbul

In order to be on time for the slot we left the hotel early

All went according to plan, with VAT refund, fuel, handling fees payment etc...

When we got to the plane, we saw the force of the wind the night before as some of them had moved, some had their over removed etc...

We only lost a cover of a static wick on the Mustang.

We were right on time for the slot above the airport, but them we got sent to an arrival that took us about 50 nm over the black sea and following an airliner at a 2 minutes interval...what a busy place..we saw close to 15 target on our TCAS at a 12 nm range.

But the path took us above Istanbul at 3000 feet, what a great sightseeing flight

Our Brief to Istanbul

Istanbul is one of the most busy airspace on our journey. This is the first time we are using the Ataturk Airport on the European side of the Bosphorus. The previous year we were going to the Orient side.

The brief is complete and very detailed. We need to pay close attention because we have a short leg, a busy airport, weather might be an issue etc...

And most important we have slots which are good for -20 to +20 mn around the time given

The third day in Santorini is for shopping and relaxation and most important discovery.
