In the previous Journeys Around the World, when leaving Taipei we were on our way to Japan. For 2014 I decides that a stop in a leisurely place would be perfect before the long crossing back to the US via Russia.
After some research I elected Jeju as the prefect place to relax before launching the Japan visit and the Pacific crossing.
It was very hazy too...so making an ILS intercept at 220 kts and keeping the speed up all the way to the FAF was interesting...especially been in the soup....I recall calling VREF at plus 50...
But Tom did a beautiful touch down right on the computing number of 88 kts...very nice job especially after crossing the FAF at 180.

Jeju Province (officially the Jeju Special Autonomous Province) is one of the nine provinces of South Korea. The province is situated on and coterminous with the nation's largest island of Jeju (also Jejudo; see Naming below), formerly transliterated as Cheju, Cheju Do, etc., or known as Quelpart to Europeans. The island lies in the Korea Strait, southwest of South Jeolla Province, of which it was a part before it became a separate province in 1946. Its capital is Jeju City.
The island contains the natural World Heritage Site Jeju Volcanic Island and Lava Tubes. Jeju Island has a temperate climate and even in winter, the temperature rarely falls below freezing point.
I was not expecting such a busy airport....Jeju is the Hawaii of the Far East and there is a lot of traffic on that airport, nearly as much as Hong Kong.
